POETRY SOME MORE

Lions

Mating for life

Lions
Reclining
Supine
Stretch
Golden
Fur
Tawny
Blades of grass
Lazy
Waiting
Territory
Somewhere south
Of the Sahara
Savannah
Gold
Sienna
Cubs
Sunshine
Love
Playful
Indulgent
Smile
Senses
Sleeping
Basking
Supple
Senses
Something-
A blade
Of grass
Moving
At some miles
Distant
Sensitive
That sensitive
The king
Only apparently sleeping
Stripes
Black and white
Contrast
To his
Red gold umber and
His
So sleek
They spirally
black and white rolling buttocked
Striking.
Straight and curved, black and white
Stretching over rolling flesh
An alien
Some sort of equine.
Black and white, white and black, black and white
Will he get up?
To this
Spiralling inhabitant of his terrain.
But they run very fast
The zebra
The horned ones are slower.

Man eating?

... Only the wife.
